Party Dress
A party dress is a fancy dress worn on events which call for celebration. Parties are often associated with the catchy phrase “dress to impress”.
Since parties only happen once in a while, they are a great time to show off stunning dress paired with great shoes, nice accessories, and glam make-up and hairstyle to match. So for the meantime, you can shun away the clothes you wear on a daily basis. It’s your time to shine, so go for the best party dress you can find.
Party dresses vary depending on occasion. For formal parties such as black-tie or white-tie events, the preferred dresses are usually elegant and classy. But for informal occasions such as costume parties, the characteristic of dresses are more playful and festive.
Tips for choosing the right party dress:
- Know the theme of the party. Do a little research on what to wear and what not to wear according to the theme. Be aware that there are certain dress codes followed particularly for formal parties.
- Avoid buying the dress way too early, like months before the day of the party. Two weeks is a good allowance just in case you have to make future alterations for the dress.
- Don’t buy a dress just because it looks good in the magazines. For your party dress, you can take inspiration from fashion experts but it’s better if you could inject your own character into your style.
- If you really want to stand out from the crowd, don’t follow the trends too much because you might end having the same dress as others. Be aware of your best features and accentuate them with flattering cuts. Like if you have a smooth and sexy shoulders, bare them out with a sweetheart cut top.
- Strike a balance between your dress and your accessories. If your dress is eye-catching (think beaded gowns or red dress), keep your jewelry simple. On the other hand, if your dress looks modest and simple (like monochromatic or neutral-colored dress), you may opt for bold jewelry.
- Don’t sacrifice comfort for style. If the dress looks good but it is two sizes smaller than yours, don’t force yourself in it. It’s easier to look and feel good if you’ve got the perfect fitting dress to begin with.
- Make sure your dress hugs your body in all the right places. Or else, you’ll be wasting time worrying about a possible wardrobe malfunction instead of having fun at the party.
